Gothic Arches - Vintage Children

I loved these little girls playing in their petticoats and reminded me of stories my mother told me that when she was a kid and they were quite poor and only had their school clothes, church clothes and one or two other outfits so if it was warm enough i.e. not raining or snowing they, as in her, her sisters and the other kids in the neighbourhood, would play outside in their petticoats to keep their other clothes clean and safe! I can't see that being acceptable these days. The background is acrylics and crackle the image is my own.
